What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a totally natural phenomenon that we all experience as part of our every day lives; for example, on awakening in the morning & before drifting asleep at night.

Other hypnotic states include daydreaming and doing things on autopilot, i.e. driving on the highway, being engrossed in a television programme or a good book. At these moments we are oblivious to distractions around us & respond as if in the situation on television, or in the book, due to a change in awareness. Music also produces altered states of consciousness.

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, producing profound physical & mental relaxation. In hypnosis, our body is deeply relaxed, but our minds are sharpened & more focused. We have a heightened sense of awareness.

In this healthier state of being, we have direct access to our subconscious mind, where our behaviours, habits & inexhaustible resources reside.

During hypnosis, beneficial suggestions can be made to our subconscious mind for therapeutic purposes, resulting in positive change in our lives.

With a more focused, clearer state of mind, we are able to gain insights & a new perspective on problems. We are also better placed to tap into our inner resources from our subconscious, to help resolve issues.

Hypnosis is a highly effective & safe tool, which has been utilised for thousands of years, benefiting people the world over.

Clinical Hypnotherapy
This term describes employing hypnosis to treat medical & psychological problems. Health concerns that have failed to result in an improvement with conventional medicine may respond well with the use of hypnosis.
