Fear of Public Speaking

For a large number of people fear of public speaking produces intense fear. A high percentage of people rate speaking in front of a group or audience as more fearful than death!

Individuals fear humiliation, failure, looking/sounding foolish or incompetent, or that their mind will go blank. Some even fear losing their job. They internalise & imagine catastrophic scenarios of what will occur when it is their turn to speak or present. This leads to avoidant behaviour & perpetuates their erroneous belief that public speaking is inherently stressful & something to be dreaded.

Fear of public speaking often produces the following common symptoms:

  • Rapid heart beat
  • Sweating
  • Blushing
  • Feeling faint
  • Shaking
  • Becoming ultra self conscious
  • Shaky/trembling voice
  • Dry throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Stammering
  • Feeling nauseous
  • Forgetting words

Whether you have had a previous negative experience speaking publicly, or are just fearful of presenting or speaking up in a meeting, hypnotherapy and NLP can help you conquer your fears & eliminate the associated negative beliefs.

Hypnotherapy allows individuals to feel confident, relaxed & in control in front of any group, whether the group has senior management, administrative staff, or potential clients or customers.

Hypnosis enables individuals to speak clearly, precisely & calmly without feeling the need to rush through the presentation to ‘get it over and done with as quickly as possible’.

Public speaking does not have to be stressful. With hypnosis & NLP, you can become an effective, successful public speaker and even enjoy the experience.
